Kids Say The Darndest Things!!!
I just thought that I would take note of all the funny things the kids say! It is so cute when they first learn to talk and the funny ways they put words together! They always make me LAUGH!! Hope you enjoy!
Brayden is very into routines. At least six months ago, I told Brayden before bedtime when he wakes up not to go into Katelyn's room and wake her up and to come in my room instead. Every night before bed since he tells me, "Mom, I won't go in Katelyn's room, just your room". This is such a habit of his that he won't go to bed unless he tells me this first!
Katelyn loves to be chased. The neighbor kids chase her all the time and she yells "No get me now!" She loves the game so much that she is constantly saying "No get me now" trying to instigate the chasing!
After hours of fighting chaos between the kids:
Brayden: Mom are you happy or mad?
Mom: Happy, bud. I just wish you would stop fighting.
Brayden hits Katelyn
Brayden: Mom, are you happy or mad?
Mom: Brayden, are you trying to make me mad?
Brayden: No mom, I like it when you are happy! I'm sorry, Mom!
Mom: (LONG SIGH) I am happy Bud.
Brayden has become obsessed with going to school and he can't wait to go. This morning he came into my room.
Brayden: Mom, I need to go to school
Mom: Not yet, Brayden, maybe next year?
Brayden: But, Mom! I need to go to school.
Mom: You know Brayden when you go to school, you won't be with Mom anymore.
Brayden: But, Mom, you have to go to school with me.
Mom: Nope, I can't. When you go to school Mom won't go with you.
Brayden: Okay. I don't need to go to school.
Later, he goes into the dining room and eats cereal with Dad. I hear:
Brayden: Dad, I'm going to go to school and Mom is going with me!!
On a walk over to my parents house, I was carrying Brayden and telling him how big he was.
Brayden: Yeah, Mom. I'm growing up. I'm getting tall. But, I can't stop it!
A few days later:
Brayden: I'm still growing. Soon I'll be as tall as the house, and I'll have to hang my head like the dults do.
(I guess I need to start working on my posture!!)
Brayden is very interested in how things work. He started this by asking me "hows it work Mom?" and later changed it to "How it do's Mom?" or "Hows it do?"
I came to a realization a few weeks ago that it doesn't matter what I say to my children they always reply with the last word of the sentence I used. Case in point, "Katelyn, if you don't quit it I'm going to put you to bed!" "Bed" or "Brayden we don't hit! Its naughty!" "Naughty?" This theory is pretty much full proof and I find myself paying attention to the last word of my sentence because I know they will repeat it!
When I ask Brayden to do something he keeps saying, "Yes sir, Mom" Not sure where this is coming from.

Bryan has been working out of town a lot so the kids have been extra affectionate to Mommy.
I Woke up this morning like most mornings with a giant hug & a squealed, "I missed you!" from Brayden, but this time accompanied with a "you have booful eyes- booful nose- booful mouth" followed by a kiss! Yep, he's a keeper!
**********************************************************************
Katelyn has a cold today. I gave her a little bag of cereal that she can carry around and eat when she wants to. The bag was sitting on the couch and Katelyn on my lap. She pointed, reached for it, and said "Poop". I asked if she had to poop and she said "no". She does the leaning and reaching again yelling "Poop!" I guess in sick speak poop means food. Ironically she was eating chocolate pebbles.... I just don't know!
**********************************************************************
Brayden is in the "Why" stage! Every five minutes "What are you doing Mom?" "Mom, what are you doing?" "What are you doing Mom?" I try to answer every time and be sweet because I remember doing the same thing to my parents! After I explain to him what I am doing, he says, "WHY MOM!? Why, Mom, Why, WHY!?? I answer and explain what it is I am doing and its always followed by a "Why Mom, Why Mom, Why Mom!" Eventually I stop answering because I fear he could do this ALL DAY!
**********************************************************************
Katelyn's favorite word these days.............. "Poop! POOOOOP, POOOOOOOOOOOOOOP" HAHA She loves the word poop and pointing out when her diaper is poopy! She says it so cute too! "POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!"
**********************************************************************
Last night, before bed, Brayden was trying to avoid bedtime and when he wants to get the job done, he starts telling incredibly random stories. The story for the night was that Bella likes to eat Dinosaur Bones. She likes them because they are big and last long. Then he started clawing and digging in his bed trying to find said Dino Bone so he could give it to her! When we asked what he was doing, he said, "Digging for Bones" ..... Naturally.... Whats it look like!??!??!??
**********************************************************************
So now everytime Brayden gets hurt (WHICH IS OFTEN!----stubs his toe, bites his tongue, runs into a wall, etc...) He says he NEEEEEEDS A DOOOOOOOOCTOR!! Thank you Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! :)
**********************************************************************
Katelyn has a kind of deep voice for a little angel! She is learning more and more words each day! She is completely OBSESSED with SHOES and accessories of all types! She is 100% girl! When I go to get her out of her crib, she immediately says, "SHOE, SHOE!!" and she will repeat this all day until you let her put her shoes on! She has probably 20 pairs of shoes now because they are her FAVORITE thing!
**********************************************************************
Brayden finishes eating his dinner, grabs my leg and wipes his hands all over my pants... "No more mess!" Yes, Thank you Brayden ;)
**********************************************************************
Brayden wakes up from his nap and says
"I wake up!"
"Yeah thats a good boy did you sleep well?"
"Ouch!" and grabs his belly
"Does your tummy hurt?"
"Yeah, hurt!"
Loud disgusting fart is released
"I Fart!"
"Does your tummy feel better?"
"Yeah, I fart!"
**********************************************************************
Whenever Bryan comes home from work he usually brings some form of treat home for Brayden to let him know that he is thinking about him while he is away. Brayden is so used to getting these treats that when Bryan comes home from work, Brayden runs up to him and says "Pock!" "Pock!" and tries to stick his hand in Daddy's pocket!
**********************************************************************
Sat down on the couch by Brayden with Katelyn and I said Say hi to your Brother Katelyn! Brayden goes, "Hi Brudder" and gave her a kiss! Ha! Funny because he ALWAYS calls her sister!
**********************************************************************
Probably our all time favorite. Brayden's first phrase a long time ago...
YOU BWOKE IT!!! Bryan told him when he was 14 months old that he broke something trying to make him realize to be careful and Brayden has said it ever since. It has been varied to I bwoke it.... And as hyper as you can possibly imagine.. "You bwoke it. You bwoke it.... you did, you bwoke it... you did, you did!
**********************************************************************
Peas and Thek you are the best words a mother can hear!
**********************************************************************
Katelyn starts crying for no apparent reason
Brayden: OH Sissy wus wrong? Ya okay??
This is one of the most common sayings in our house because Brayden always thinks Katelyn is hurt when she cries! What a good big brother!
**********************************************************************
While cleaning out Brayden's fish tank, Brayden kept saying that the fish were in the bath! When I took them out he said, Are you cleaning the fish?
**********************************************************************
We believe Brayden to be slightly OCD! Every time he takes a nap:
Brayden: Banket.... fwends.... sssstowy.... FFFish in that order! It is pretty funny! At least he reminds us to feed the fish!
